From ITG to transforming healthcare: alumni Jan Fišer and Daran Majid launch promising startup Medivox

It always makes us immensely happy to see our students actively shaping the future instead of waiting for opportunities to fall into their laps. Our alumni Jan Fišer and Daran Majid are a perfect example. They are behind the innovative Czech startup Medivox, which aims to tackle one of today's biggest healthcare problems: overwhelming administration.

Artificial intelligence that gives doctors more time for patients

You know the situation. You visit a doctor who looks at a monitor and types away instead of looking you in the eye. Administration takes up an enormous amount of doctors' time. That is exactly what these ITG alumni decided to change.

Their Medivox application works as a smart virtual assistant. It uses advanced artificial intelligence to listen to a normal conversation between a doctor and a patient, then automatically generates an accurate, structured medical report.

‘Of course, the doctor must always check the resulting report. AI prepares a draft, but final responsibility always remains with the doctor,’ explains an interview about the application on the Naše zdravotnictví website. The difference in time is substantial: reading and approving a draft takes a fraction of the time needed to write the whole report from scratch.

Medivox can save doctors up to seven minutes per patient during initial examinations. That adds up to several hours a week that doctors can devote to what matters most: people.

Technology designed for real practice

The founders know very well that there is no room for mistakes in medicine. Rather than settling for readily available AI models, they chose to develop their own technology in close cooperation with practising doctors.

The Medivox application stands out because it:

Does not hallucinate: The model continually learns from real, anonymised data, so it does not invent nonexistent diagnoses.

Understands medicines: It includes dictionaries and medical terminology developed in-house to avoid confusing medicines with similar names.

Adapts: The system is designed to gradually learn each doctor's writing style and adapt to their habits.

Proof that it can be done

Jan and Daran's story is the best possible advertisement for ITG Gymnázium. It shows that students who receive the right foundation in technology, support for their resilience and the ability to solve real problems can build a project with a significant social impact while still at secondary school or shortly afterwards.

Huge congratulations to both founders, and we wish Medivox every success as it continues to grow!
