Understanding a changing world

We do not know what the professions of the future will look like. But we know what abilities young people will need to succeed in that future world.

These will undoubtedly include perseverance and resilience – the ability to overcome obstacles and face them again when something does not work out. AI will take over more and more activities, including complex and highly specialised work as well as routine, easily defined tasks. Human value will increasingly lie in what we can add: authenticity, deep expertise, independent judgement and the ability to use and direct AI effectively.

That is why we give students a solid gymnasium foundation and gradually greater freedom to choose their own path. We connect technology with the real world, teaching with professionals, and knowledge with the ability to learn, adapt and handle change.

Technology is not our goal. It is a tool for understanding the world around us. Our experience in the technology industry, network of professionals and flexible education allow us to bring important changes into real teaching quickly.

You do not have to know today what you will become.

But you should have the opportunity to discover what you are really good at.

From the third year, students choose from a range of advanced compulsory elective subjects and can explore the areas where they discover their interests and talents in greater depth.

An individual study plan for athletes

If you represent the Czech Republic in sport, you can have an individual education plan that fully accommodates your demanding sports preparation, training camps and national-team commitments.

We want you to develop your sporting talent fully while gaining a quality education. We have experience with students who compete at an elite level - subject to the conditions, we offer an individual study plan so that education can fit around training and competition.

Studying abroad

Students can complete part of their studies abroad. A one-semester stay is ideal – on their return, students can rejoin their year group smoothly and take an assessment at the end of the semester.

We have had good experiences with Canadian secondary schools in British Columbia, for example. Since 2023, we have worked through Czenadians with schools in the Okanagan Skaha School District. Students can spend a semester studying there and living with a host family.

We support international experience as one way to create your own path while studying at ITG.

Where graduates plan to go · 2024–2026

These figures come from the “Maturanti jdou do světa” graduate surveys. They describe respondents’ plans after graduation, not university admission results.

Class of 2026 · 38 respondents

100%

want to continue studying after graduation

94.7%

are applying to universities in Czechia

15.8%

are also applying to universities abroad

57.9% plan to find work while studying and 26.3% plan to continue their current work. Working in their field while studying is important or very important to 19 of the 35 respondents who answered that question (54.3%).

Class of 2025

32 respondents. All said they wanted to continue studying. 96.9% are applying to universities in Czechia and 3.1% abroad.

Class of 2024

28 respondents. 82.1% plan to attend university or combine study with work. 46.4% plan to go directly to university in Czechia, 7.1% abroad, and 28.6% plan to combine work and study.

The question was worded differently in 2024, so the figures are not directly comparable with 2025 and 2026. Applications in Czechia and abroad can overlap. The document contains the full results, examples of universities and work experience.
