FAQ

What kind of school is ITG? What is its focus?

ITG / IT Gymnasium is a four-year private general-education grammar school with a focus on IT. We focus on IT technologies and digital literacy, while also emphasizing personal development, critical thinking, and well-being.

Where is the school located and how do I get there?

Prague–Satalice, K Cihelně 129. It is accessible by bus or train.

How are students assessed?

We combine traditional grades with formative (written) feedback.

What does the curriculum and the elective system look like?

The curriculum is based on the national Framework Educational Programme for Grammar Schools (RVP-G). We use the discretionary hours to increase the number of lessons in Computer Science, English, and Physical Education. Students have a total of 33–35 lessons per week.

From the 3rd year, students partially build their own timetable — they choose 12 lessons per week (6 subjects) from a selection of “Advanced” courses based on their interests: Cybersecurity, Software Project, IoT, Algorithmics, Financial Literacy, Psychology, Social Sciences, etc. A full overview is available here.

How much does studying cost?

The annual tuition fee is 130,000 CZK.

How does the admission process work?

60% of the score comes from the Cermat entrance exams, 40% from the school’s own exam. Applicants spend a morning at the school, where they take a logic test, we assess their English level, and they complete an independent task. The exam is held in a natural and relaxed atmosphere.

How many points are required from the Cermat tests?

25 points (half) in Mathematics and 25 points (half) in Czech — this is the admission requirement. Applicants scoring below this cannot be admitted. They must also achieve at least half of the points in the school exam.

Does the school offer accommodation?

The school does not have its own dormitory, but we can assist in arranging accommodation.

How does the school communicate with parents?

Via EduPage, email, and in person. We communicate with students through Discord.

How many girls attend the school?

40 girls and 115 boys — overall, 35% girls.
