A huge success: our students win Digital Project of the Year with their BUNKR graduation project!
When technology, creativity and a desire to do things differently come together, projects emerge that erase the boundary between the classroom and the real world. That is exactly what our fourth-year team achieved: their collaborative graduation project Shelter (BUNKR) won a fantastic first place in the Digital Project of the Year competition.
What is Shelter (BUNKR)?
Shelter is an innovative educational platform that turns the challenging subject of cybersecurity into an engaging escape game.
The platform is built on three main pillars:
Gamified CTF challenges: It uses the popular Capture The Flag format, allowing players to practise finding vulnerabilities and defensive techniques in realistic, high-pressure situations.
Advanced technical foundations: The team did more than create attractive graphics. They also built the technology on which the entire simulation runs safely.
Long-term value for the school: This is not a one-off experiment. The project was designed as a fully modular tool that 1. IT Gymnázium can use for practical cybersecurity teaching with future year groups.
Who is behind this success?
This shows just how far students can go when they have the freedom and space to discover their talents. The winning project was created by our excellent team:
Sebastian Jirkal
Lukáš Otáhal
Filip Janoušek
Sarah Štěpánová
Congratulations to the whole team on their well-deserved gold! You have shown that technology at ITG is much more than an end in itself: it is a powerful tool. We are incredibly proud of you and look forward to seeing where your next steps take you, in cyberspace and beyond.
