To protect a system, you need to think like a hacker. How do we teach cybersecurity at ITG?
In today's digital world, simply installing antivirus software and hoping nothing happens is no longer enough. To work seriously on cybersecurity and protect their data, our students first need to understand how an attacker thinks. 💻💪
That is precisely why we focus on Cyber Security at ITG Gymnázium. This is about understanding real situations, with none of the dry textbook rules. The subject focuses on actively protecting computer systems, networks and sensitive data against real attacks, misuse and damage.
What do students get to try in practice?
During their studies, our students become digital defenders. In class, they learn about:
Recognising security threats: They develop the ability to identify risks before they cause damage.
The basics of ethical hacking: They try attackers' techniques in a safe environment so they can uncover vulnerabilities and patch them in time.
Encryption and security: They learn the complex principles of cryptography, advanced password management and modern antivirus protection.
Defence and response: They practise preventing cyberattacks effectively and, above all, responding quickly and correctly when an attack happens.
The aim of this subject is to teach students to take control of the digital world. We want them to know exactly how to keep their data and systems as safe as possible, rather than finding the online world frightening. 😎👌
